Conversations with kyle

“Opening a space for co creation and self actualisation gives me deep satisfaction and humility.”

Who is Kyle

work and career

  • My working life began on a bmx in my early teens with a milk crate strapped to the handle bar, delivering a local paper. Proceeded by before-school, and after-school deliveries of milk, the yellow pages and baked goods in ACT where i grew up.
  • In the 90’s I was offered a painting apprenticeship which funded a lifestyle of travel, music, festivals and nomadic living for the next 14 years.
  • In 2013, a bushwalking injury changed the trajectory of my working life upon relocating to NSW South coast, I moved away from painting. I was the successful applicant of a position of Intern Market Gardener, where 600M2 of alluvial soil in a community garden was mine to learn, stumble and meander through, to experience a taste of small scale market gardening, unmechanised. I had a great mentor during this position.
  • From 2013-2018 I immersed myself in fresh food production (veggies) with various landshare arrangements and different properties.
  • 2017 I became a Mentor for an Intern who started out just as I did, which offered me much fulfilment and a sense of contribution to pay-it-forward. At this point my production peaked. I was on a 3 acre production growing and harvesting fresh produce for fruit and veg outlets, farmers markets and harvest boxes for the local community.
  • A new chapter opened up in late 2018 for me to enter the world of communication and liaison, and this was where I found my affection for helping others. My role was to communicate and liaise with home owners having flood damaged property’s repaired under insurance claims. This would require an empathetic approach, which I found came naturally to me. This was a real catalyst for me, and changed the way I communicate and relate with others. Furthermore in this role, I connected with community and charity organisations to provide donations of time and money to assist community members who had been impacted by the extreme weather event.
  • In 2020, I utilised my skills, and position in the company, by co-facilitating workshops for empathetic listening. This led onto setting up the ‘Zen Den ‘ in a new office location and offering 1-on-1 conversations with stressed staff.
  • I went on to explore life coaching principles, learning much about myself and how best to help others interact with the world. This brought to light a real need in our community for a fresh and alternate support service, and so ‘Conversations With Kyle’ began to grow.
  • In late 2022, I participated in an online course- Fundamentals of Authentic Relating. This course has enabled me to embody all of my communications skills and empathy to be strong, yet sensitive and accepting of the expression of myself, and others. Facilitating connection and support.

Here & now

I am now at a point where human connection is a more important aspect in my life. Which has been brought on from witnessing and experiencing relationship breakdowns. Albeit family, business, social or romantic, the distress of these breakdowns can be pivotal to “breakthroughs” . A turnaround with an open mindset.

Learning healthier ways to communicate, through my work and personal interest has given me a way to connect with others authentically. This results in more connectivity and resonance with others, deepening and fortifying relationships. Just like the layers of an onion., we can continually deepen our own experience, and with those in our lives. I desire to live by and share this way of relating with, and supporting others, online or in-person (where practical) My passion for food production,, connection and sovereignty and more recently seed production still stands, and will always be part of my life.

Why is it important to me?

I am seeing a decline in human connection in society. It is important to me to see, feel and offer connection with others that is founded on authenticity, freedom of expression, and non judgement and acceptance. Freeing people for self exploration, and empowered living is also important to me.

In my spare time

My spare time involves a mix of individual and social activities. My personal enjoyment comes from surfing, playing the guitar and singing, enjoying nature and home gardening.

I immensely enjoy conversing and connecting with family and others through workshops, gatherings and social activities.

Staying fit and healthy is a priority for me and involves group exercise activities, jogging, physical labour work and eating a wholefood plant based diet.
