According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), there is a significant 32% literacy gap that disproportionately affects how men process and articulate information. For many men, this means possessing the depth of experience required for meaningful connection but lacking the specific literacy to translate that depth into language. This gap between what is felt and what is expressed often results in static in romantic, professional, and familial relationships.
I facilitate communication workshops designed to bridge this literacy gap. My approach is that of a specialized guide, drawing on extensive experience in facilitating men’s circles, leadership training, both online and live learning containers, and men’s rites of passage. Utilizing a framework refined through men’s work and the embodied principles of Authentic Relating, we move beyond “talking about” feelings into the mechanics of foundational communication.
Central to this work is the development of emotional intelligence—the ability to identify and regulate your internal landscape. We focus on mastering learned listening skills that go beyond hearing words to understanding intent. Furthermore, we address the critical role of non-verbal communication, teaching you to become aware of the body and the energy you bring into a space. This holistic approach equips you with the clarity to understand your own state and the precise language to express it.
My workshops are not just about improving interpersonal skills; they are about personal sovereignty. By gaining self-awareness and implementing these tools of communication, you learn to live authentically while offering others the freedom to have their own experience.
